About Wagheshwar Devasthan

Wagheshwar Temple is an ancient Hindu temple dedicated to Lord Shiva, located in the Wagholi area of Pune, Maharashtra, India. The temple is believed to be very old, with some legends suggesting it was built by the Pandavas during their exile. 

The temple is built from black basalt and features intricate carvings of Hindu gods and goddesses on its walls. The main deity, Lord Shiva, is enshrined in a sanctum sanctorum within the temple. There is also a large Nandi statue, the bull vehicle of Lord Shiva, placed in front of the main deity. The temple is a popular pilgrimage destination for devotees of Lord Shiva and attracts visitors from all over India.

The Wagheshwar Devasthan is built in the traditional Hindu temple style, characterized by its black stone structure and intricate carvings. The towering shikhara, the main spire, dominates the temple complex and is a testament to the craftsmanship of its builders.”

“The temple complex also houses a spacious mandap (hall) for gatherings and prayers, a serene pond, and a Nandi mandap, dedicated to the sacred bull, Lord Shiva’s trusted companion.”
